“...this little white house was there with a brick path going down to the road...There was a garden on the other side and I can remember honeysuckle growing on the porch...I can remember all the birds nesting in there.”
Charles Tacchi (1908-1992)

Located in the historic Remillard Cottage which was built in 1891, our preschool has been serving Marin County families since 1949.

Just around the bend, the Green Brae Brick Kiln on the San Quentin Peninsula is the only surviving structure of the Remillard Brick Company.

During its 103 years of operation, its bricks were used to rebuild Ghirardelli Square, the Palace Hotel, and other San Francisco structures after the 1906 earthquake. The Cottage also survived the quake.

Foremen of the Remillard Brick Company originally lived in the cottage, including Antone Tacchi, whose son Charles was born in the house on March 1, 1908.

Although the Remillard Brick Company served as a chief supplier of bricks for the entire Pacific coast. It was closed in 1915.
